Alison Arden Besunder
Alison Arden Besunder has spent over a decade practicing law in the New York City. She focuses her practice in the areas of Trusts and Estate Planning, Elder Law, Estate Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property.
Ms. Besunder has extensive experience counseling clients on estate planning, elder law and litigation matters, ranging from the simple to complex.
Ms. Besunder is a member of the Trusts and Estates and Elder Law Sections of the New York State Bar Association and the NYSBA Animals and the Law Committee. Alison remains co-chair of the Privacy Task Force of the New York State Bar Association, which produced a 250-page report on the existing privacy laws affecting labor and employment, criminal law, litigation, intellectual property, and business law. Ms. Besunder is also a member of the Suffolk County and Brooklyn Bar Associations. Ms. Besunder is certified to act as a court-appointed evaluator, court examiner, and guardian in the New York State Courts. Ms. Besunder is a frequent contributor to the New York Law Journal, the Suffolk Lawyer, and a lecturer at Practising Law Institute. Ms. Besunder is also an active volunteer with the Jewish Association of Services for the Aged (JASA).
Prior to founding Alison Arden Besunder, P.C., Ms. Besunder was a commercial litigation partner at Arent Fox, where she was an instrumental member of the team representing Louis Vuitton and other fashion retailers in combating counterfeit sales on Canal Street. The landmark cases were the first of their kind to reach consent injunctions with the landlord-owners of the property to take affirmative steps to curtail counterfeit sales, such as posting signs and evicting offending tenants.
